Our church is proud of our hardworking and dedicated team that serves the community. Each member brings unique talents, working together to create a welcoming environment and make a positive impact in fellowship.
Michael Weaver | Pastor- Michael comes to us from the south side of Houston, moving to Brenham in 2009 where he immediately fell in love with “small town living." In Brenham, he met his wife Jennifer, a local Bellville Kindergarten teacher. Together they blended a beautiful family of four daughters - Camille, Jordan, Natalie, and Peyton. Pastor Michael received his education in pastoral leadership at the College of Biblical Studies and continues to study Christian counseling through Liberty University. He believes that sharing the gospel of Christ does not end on Sundays, but is about reaching all levels of the community every day. "My family and I are blessed to be a part of this wonderful community and look forward to many years of serving both the city of Bellville and its citizens."
Jake Mayfield | Associate Pastor- Jake and his wife, Michelle, are Bellville natives. They moved "back home" after a six-year stint in Belton where they both attended the University of Mary-Hardin Baylor. Jake graduated with a B.B.A in Management in 2011. Michelle graduated with her R.N. in 2023. They have five wonderful children: Karter, Charlotte, Valerie, Ryker, and Archer. The Mayfields enjoy beach getaways, all things Tex-Mex, and lazy Sunday afternoons. Called to ministry in high school, Jake aims daily to serve and lead others in every aspect of his life. "My desire is to see individuals, families, and communities changed by the power of the gospel." He loves being a part of God's story of grace in helping others to "see and savor" Jesus - especially in corporate worship and preaching.
Elders
Paul Vollrath
Paul Vollrath has dedicated his life in service to the Lord. He served in Papua New Guinea for 29 years, along with his wife and two children, as a teacher and then as a Bible translator for Wycliffe. Retiring after 14 years of administering in international missions, Paul and Karen continue their missionary calling by serving faithfully at GCC and in the Bellville community.
Doug Matuska
Doug Matuska and his family came to Bellville from Roswell, New Mexico and have been members of GCC since 2004. He was led into the education field as a math teacher where he gets to invest in the lives of students daily. Doug also helps man the media booth on Sunday mornings!
Alan Peake
Alan Peake has been a dedicated member of GCC since the beginning and a faithful elder of the church since 2014. Alan serves as a spiritual leader at GCC as well as at Faith Mission in Brenham where has been employed for more than 15 years.
Mark Sleeper
Mark Sleeper joined GCC in 2017 with wife Gretta and they hit the ground running! Mark has a huge heart for service and a knack for helping folks feel welcomed. When not pouring into his church family, Mark trains horses (really the people who own them!).
Max Lopez
Max Lopez and his family are mostly Bellville natives. They have been members here since 2023 and have been all in since then! Max is a true servant leader and admits that his first ministry is his family. He is also a local business owner and lives out his faith while doing heavy machine work and installing septic systems.
Brock Wellborn
Brock and his wife Debi are both Native Texans, and came to Bellville in 2022. They knew after their very first visit to GCC that they had found their church home! The authenticity, friendly welcome, and love the drew them to GCC is what Brock is most excited about being a part of!
